Refund Policy
Last updated: 1 January 2026
Our role
Operix Payment collects money on behalf of merchants. We are not the seller of the goods or services you bought, and we do not set the merchant's return terms. The merchant decides whether a purchase qualifies for a refund. Once they approve it, we return the money along the same route the payment came in.
Paid a merchant and want your money back? Contact that merchant first. If they do not respond, email Contact@operixtech.com with your transaction reference and we will step in.
If you paid a merchant
- Refunds go back to the same card, wallet or account used for the original payment. We cannot send a refund somewhere else.
- A refund can be full or partial, depending on what the merchant approves.
- We submit approved refunds within one business day. How long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or wallet — usually a few business days, and up to fifteen for some card issuers.
If you are a merchant
- You can issue a full or partial refund from your dashboard, within the window set in your merchant agreement.
- Refunds are funded from your Operix balance. If the balance does not cover it, we deduct the amount from upcoming settlements.
- You are responsible for publishing your own return terms and honouring them. Egyptian consumer protection law sets minimum rights your terms cannot reduce.
Fees on refunds
The customer receives the full amount they paid. For merchants, the processing fee on the original transaction is not returned, because the cost was already incurred by the banks that carried the payment. Your merchant agreement prevails if it says otherwise.
Failed and duplicate payments
- Payment failed but money left your account: some banks hold the amount before confirming. Holds are released automatically, usually within a few business days.
- Charged twice: send us both references. Confirmed duplicates are refunded in full, without needing the merchant's approval.
- Paid the wrong merchant or amount: contact the merchant. If they confirm the error, we will reverse it.
Disputes and chargebacks
If you ask your bank to reverse a card payment, the case follows the card scheme's dispute process rather than this policy. We will collect evidence from the merchant and submit it, and the scheme makes the final decision. Contacting the merchant first is normally faster.
What we cannot refund
- Transactions where the goods or services were delivered as described and the merchant's terms do not allow a return.
- Requests made after the merchant's refund window has closed, unless the law says otherwise.
- Payments to a merchant that no longer holds a balance with us and has not funded the refund.
How to request a refund
Email Contact@operixtech.com with the transaction reference or payment link, the date and amount, the merchant's name, and the reason for the request. We acknowledge requests within one business day.
